Our vision on inclusion

Bazart commits to fostering an inclusive environment for its members and staff. We focus on showcasing our members' talents, interests and potential rather than their limitations, and create space for children's growth and development through artistic encounter.

To achieve this, we work to in lower participation barriers on all accounts: financial, socio-economical, physical, practical, cultural, and linguistic. Currently, we offer a social fund in order to relieve financial constraints and use existing rebate systems such as UiTPAS.

Bazart regularly collaborates with organizations and initiatives such OCMW, CAW, en jeugdwelzijnswerk to promote equality and inclusino. In addition, a number of local departments participate in Doemamee, an initiative aiming to bring disabled and non-disabled children in youth movements together. To signal inclusivity, we display a flag welcoming everyone and continue to work actively at removing barriers for children and young adults with disabilities.

At the same time, we are aware of the fact that creating a truly inclusive space takes time, space, and critical reflection. Fostering inclusivity is a continuous act, and we are currently committed to removing existing blind spots.

Unsure if your child can join Bazart? Let us know, and we will do anything in our power to make Bazart possible for them.
